DRY KILL LOGIC Record Version Of Baseball Anthem For Upcoming Videogame
May 22, 2002DRY KILL LOGIC have recorded a "new millennium" rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game", entitled titled "Riot at the Bat Rack", according to Australia's Undercover.
The song is due to appear as part of the adrenaline-style console baseball videogame MLB SlugFest 20-03.
"Since we are redefining the baseball videogame category with MLB SlugFest 20-03's unique style, we thought it was only fitting to record an all-new, hard-rockin' version of 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game' to give the game an even more aggressive attitude," said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing, Midway.
"Take Me Out to the Ball Game" was originally written in 1908 by songwriter Jack Norworth and composer Albert Von Tilzer. The song quickly became a favorite at baseball stadiums all over the United States, helping fans rally their teams by singing together -- usually during the "seventh inning stretch."
The MLB SlugFest game is currently in development and scheduled to ship this summer 2002 for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system.
